Took my 2017 Subaru WRX to have the motor replaced. Paid close to $9,000 for a new short block. When I went to pick the car up, the clutch was slipping as soon as I drove off the lot. My clutch was not slipping when I dropped it off, and had just been replaced a month prior. Brought it back, and they tried to tell me that I needed an entire new transmission because the transmission was causing the clutch to prematurely wear out. Paid to have the clutch replaced, two days later clutch was slipping again. Brought it back, and was told that the clutch they had just installed 2 days earlier already needed to be warrantied out and replaced again. Left my car with them for 2 days and went to go pick it up and was told that they had replaced the clutch.. Then took it to Kaiju Motorsports which has been amazing, and once they got the clutch out they informed me that it had not been replaced whatsoever. This was more than a year ago in may of 2023 when I had the engine replaced. It is now October 2024, and the motor that was apparently brand new, has less than 30,000 mi and has failed due to rod knock and needs to be replaced again. Contacted Asian import autos to inquire if I was still in the warranty period. Had to continue to call over the course of 3 days, all without ever getting a call back. Was told the last time I called that he was on the other line with the manager regarding my warranty and would call me back within 5 minutes. Never received a call back. They are refusing to help in any way, and I am now having to pay close to 12K at area 51 Motorsports. You would think because of all of the positive reviews that this place has that I would have a positive professional experience, however that is the furthest possible from the case. **Update** after having the motor that Asian imports installed pulled out of my car, I was informed that the motor that was supposed to be new from Subaru actually had close to 100k miles. So on top of everything I previously mentioned in this review, they also lied and charged me for a new motor, but actually Installed a used high mileage one. Which explains why they didn't want to return my calls.
